Write a note that self-destructs
It's encrypted before it leaves your phone, and the link works exactly once.
How secret notes work
Can you read my note?
No. Your note is encrypted on your phone before it's uploaded, and the key is in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to our server. We only ever store scrambled text.
What happens after it's read?
It's deleted from our database the moment the button is tapped. Opening the link again shows that the note is gone.
What if nobody opens it?
It deletes itself when the time you picked runs out, from 1 hour to 30 days.
Will a link preview in WhatsApp or iMessage burn the note?
No. The note is only opened when a person taps “Read and destroy”, so chat app previews don't use it up.
