Safety

Last updated October 12, 2026.

Anonymous messages are fun when people are honest and kind. This page explains the rules, what we do about people who break them, and the tools you have.

Anonymous doesn't mean anything goes

The person you message can't see who you are. That doesn't make it okay to hurt them. We remove content and block senders who break these rules, and we cooperate with valid legal requests.

Not allowed

What happens automatically

Messages that look like threats, slurs or self-harm insults are hidden behind a warning, so the person can choose not to read them. The filter catches a lot but not everything, and sometimes it hides something harmless. That's why you also have the tools below.

Your tools

When we remove things

We may remove messages, block senders, or close links that break these rules or the terms, especially after a report. We don't read your inbox for fun. We look at reported messages and at activity that looks like abuse or spam.

If you're in danger or thinking about hurting yourself

Please talk to someone now. In the US, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number. Outside the US, findahelpline.com lists free, confidential helplines. A trusted adult, friend or school counselor can help too.

We can't respond to emergencies, and messages to us aren't monitored around the clock.
